Welcome to the SNUEI

The Seoul National University Energy Initiative (SNUEI) was established in 2025 to respond to rapidly changing global energy demands driven by advances in artificial intelligence technologies, the expansion of data centers, and the development of advanced industrial complexes, while preparing for a sustainable future. Over the next five years, we will pursue research and development of innovative technologies and policies across the entire energy lifecycle, cultivate interdisciplinary talent, and build a world-class network spanning industry, academia, and research institutions.

The College of Engineering, Seoul National University is one of Asia's leading institutions for engineering education and research, playing a central role in the advancement of science, technology, and industrial innovation in Korea and beyond. Established alongside Seoul National University in 1946, the College has continuously evolved to address national and global challenges through rigorous education, pioneering research, and close collaboration with industry and society. The College of Engineering comprises a comprehensive range of departments spanning chemical and biological engineering, materials science and engineering, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, aerospace engineering, naval architecture and ocean engineering, energy resources engineering, and interdisciplinary engineering programs.
